Troy is the third generation since 1954 when the J&J family arrived in Australia. Troy grew up on the Rivers Lane property and calls himself a “McLaren Vale local”.

Since childhood Troy has seen the Rivers Lane vineyard change from bare earth to the single Shiraz varietal organic vineyard it is today. In a way Troy has had a hand in everything to do with the vineyard since inception and these days he is responsible for all vineyard operations and most importantly the management of the vines to produce the very best grapes.

Mentored by his Grandfather and working along side winemaker Scott Rawlinson Troy has learnt that balance, respect and attention to detail brings out the best in all things.
